DocSafe ("we", "our", "the app") is a document organizer application developed by [Anuj Tayal]. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Authentication Data
- Phone number: Used solely for account creation and login via Firebase Authentication. We do not store your phone number on our servers beyond what Firebase requires for authentication.
2.2 Document Data
- Document metadata: names, descriptions, categories, document types, document numbers, expiry dates, and tags you provide.
- Document files: photos and PDFs you capture or import.
2.3 Security Data
- Biometric data: processed entirely on your device by the operating system. We never access, store, or transmit biometric data.
- PIN: stored securely on your device using encrypted secure storage. Never transmitted to any server.
3. How We Store Your Data
3.1 Local Storage
All document data is stored locally on your device using encrypted local databases. Files are saved in the app's private directory on your device.
3.2 Cloud Backup (Optional)
If you choose to back up your data, your document metadata and files are uploaded to Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Storage). This backup is:
- Triggered manually by you
- Associated with your authenticated account
- Stored in Google's secure cloud infrastructure
4. Data We Do NOT Collect
- Email address
- Location or GPS data
